01These terms

By creating a Jagi account or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Jagi. They apply to the mobile app on iOS and Android, its home screen widgets and lock screen features, and this website. Jagi was previously called Joy, and accounts created under that name are covered by these same terms.

Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data, and forms part of this agreement.

02Who we are

Jagi is made by Erwan ROMBO, an independent developer registered in France under SIREN 821 343 068 and based in Dole, France. You can reach us at [email protected]. There is no support queue and no call centre. There is one person, who reads everything.

03Who can use Jagi

You must be at least 16 years old to use Jagi. By creating an account you confirm that you are, and that the details you give us are true. One person, one account.

04Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign in method safe. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got into it.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to harm someone, or that we are required to close by law. Where we can, we will tell you why first.

05Bonding with your partner

Jagi works in pairs. You invite one person with your code, they accept, and the two of you share a bond. A bond holds exactly two people, and you can only be in one bond at a time.

Everything either of you adds inside the bond is visible to the other, as described in the privacy policy. Either of you can leave. When a bond ends, shared content may stop being available to one or both of you, so if something in there matters, save it before you go.

Jagi cannot referee what happens between two people. If a bond turns unpleasant, leave it, block the person on the channels you control, and write to us if you need help clearing your side.

06Your content

Your messages, photos, voice notes, answers, lists and dates remain yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service with them: to store them, to move them between your devices, and to show them to your partner and inside your own widgets. Nothing more.

We do not use your content for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not train artificial intelligence models on it.

In return you promise that you have the right to share what you upload, that it does not break the law, and that anyone else who appears in it is fine with it being there.

07What you must not do

• Use Jagi to harass, threaten, coerce, stalk or monitor anybody.
• Upload anything illegal, or any sexual content involving minors, which we report without warning.
• Impersonate someone else, or create a bond with a person who has not agreed to it.
• Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the app or its servers, or reach data that is not yours.
• Resell Jagi, or use it to build a competing product.

Jagi shows your partner your city, your distance and whether you are around. It is built for two people who chose each other. Using it to keep tabs on someone against their will is the one thing it must never be.

08Jagi Forever

Jagi Forever unlocks every question and game pack, your whole story back to day one, every widget in every style, the premium app icons, and everything we add later. It comes three ways:

• Monthly. An auto renewing subscription.
• Yearly. An auto renewing subscription.
• Forever. A single payment, no renewal. Forever means for as long as Jagi exists as a service. We are not going to pretend to promise beyond that.

One purchase covers both of you. While you are bonded, your partner gets everything you unlocked and pays nothing.

There is no free trial. The price you see on the paywall is the price you pay, in your own currency, taxes included where your store shows them that way.

Billing, renewal and cancelling

• Apple and Google take the payment. We never touch your card details.
• A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least twenty four hours before it ends.
• Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither can we do it for you.
• If a price changes, your store will tell you and ask you to agree before the next renewal.
• Moved to a new phone, or signed in again? Use restore on the paywall to get your purchase back.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us. We cannot issue one, and we cannot see your payment. Write to us anyway if something went wrong, and we will help you make the request and make it right on our side where we can.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a right of withdrawal of fourteen days on digital purchases, which you lose once the content is delivered and you agreed to immediate access. Because Jagi Forever unlocks the moment you pay, that is usually straight away. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by anything on this page.

If the bond ends, or the plan does

If a subscription lapses or a bond ends, the paid features lock again. Nothing you made is deleted. The free version still shows your recent memories, and everything older comes back the moment Jagi Forever is active again.

09What the free version includes

Jagi is free to use, and the free version is a real app, not a trailer. It includes the daily touch, moods, greetings, messages, photos, voice notes, the daily question, your companion, your streak, dates and lists, and the Touch widget on your home screen.

The free version is limited in three places:

• Your memories go back seven days rather than to day one.
• One game session per couple per day.
• The Touch widget is the only unlocked widget.

These limits are part of the product, not a fault. We may adjust them as Jagi grows, and if we tighten something that you already rely on, we will say so in the app first.

10Changes to the app

Jagi is a young app and it moves. We add features, change them, and occasionally retire the ones that do not earn their place. We will not remove something you paid for without telling you and offering a fair way out.

Some features are marked as experimental or arrive in a beta build. Those can break, and they can vanish. The app also depends on services we do not control, so it may be unavailable at times.

11Ending things

You can stop using Jagi whenever you want, and you can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings, under your profile. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, as described in the privacy policy. Delete your account and any active subscription still needs cancelling in your store.

We may end this agreement if you break these terms in a serious way, or if we shut Jagi down. If we ever shut down, we will give you notice and a way to take your memories with you.

12Jagi is not care

Jagi is a small daily ritual between two people. It is not therapy, not counselling, not medical or mental health care, and not a crisis service. Nothing in it is advice about your relationship.

If you or your partner are struggling, please speak to a professional or to your local emergency services. An app cannot do that part.

13Our responsibility, and yours

We build Jagi with care and we run it as well as one person can, but it is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be free of faults, always available, or that a notification will always arrive on time.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content, or for anything that happens between you and your partner. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.

None of this takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, including the French rules on conformity and hidden defects.

14If you bought through Apple or Google

Jagi is distributed through the App Store and Google Play, so a few of their rules apply on top of ours.

• This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple or Google. They are not responsible for Jagi or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide support for Jagi. Support questions come to [email protected].
• If Jagi fails to conform to a warranty, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. Beyond that refund, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claim that Jagi infringes someone's intellectual property, or any product liability or legal compliance claim relating to it.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
• You confirm you are not in a country under a United States embargo, and are not on a prohibited or restricted party list.

15Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of France. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.

Before going to court, please write to us. Most things are solved in an email. Consumers in the European Union can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

16Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Jagi after that means you accept the new version.
